Work related need an opinion???

Question

Ok so I had an interview today for an assistant manager role full time which I am so excited for! Anyhow the line manager called me back and she said the following...
"Hi Rachael just a call to say I was really impressed with you and you did really well in your interview would u be able to come back 10:30 tomorrow morning to go over a few things and a couple of concerns with me"..... Ofc I said yes but here's my query... She used the word "concerns"... Now IM concerned lol... I haven't got bad references and I've done n said nothing wrong my husband said I shouldn't worry because if it was bad they wouldn't entertain me or ask me to go in they would of just called n said "no" basically...does it sound promising still or should I be worried she's not happy with anything?  Am I over thinking n worrying? X

I wouldn't stress. When I interviewed for my last job (I'm an RN in an urgent care) my managers biggest concern was that I lived 45 minutes away and wouldn't be able to make it in if it snowed too much (Chicago winters). It had NOTHING to do with my performance or skills. She just needed to know that I would be reliable and I got the job. If they are taking the time to meet with you a second time they are obviously interested!

I hate when they use their weird HR terminology but don't sweat it. They wouldn't waste their time (=money) on you to come back in if they weren't interested in hiring you. There may be another manager that wants to speak to you or maybe they were discussing things after you left and forgot to ask you some questions. Deep breaths!!! It sounds like you are right there in getting the job! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Employers will always have concerns when hiring new employees and they just want the right answer when addressing them before hiring. I think u almost got it!! Ull do fine dont be nervous and remember to answer them thinking about what would they want to hear lol. Good luck!!

Hey guys I have had the second interview to ask the concerns and when i asked what her concerns were she said..
1. Your very bubbly friendly n talkative which is fine but I'm not very talkative with people so I just needed a 1 on 1 to make sure I could gel well with you or not
2. I'm concerned u may go above me.

To her first one my response was "well customers and staff prefer a happy friendly environment to work and shop in and my personality is something I can hardly change"
To her second response I asked what she meant I said "do u mean ur concerned I would have the general manager job off u or that I'd report to your superiors"

She said nothing at all, so I then went on to say "if it's reporting to superiors id have no means of contact with th area manager and if I had to talk with them concerning yourself it would only ever b if you were doing something illegal, breaching a contract or going against a company policy" - which id have to do cos I'd have no choice..... If it's "taking her job" I said nothing accept "the role is assistant manager and that's what I have come to be". but my thoughts were "why bother interviewing me again if I out do u in qualifications n u r threatened of losing ur job!" So in all fairness I couldn't see a concern myself more a petty excuse so I walked away from it feeling more uncomfortable with th idea I may be working with someone who's miserable paranoid and rude 😕 xx

Concerns can mean a lot of things!
I agree with your husband! They would not call you in to say goodbye!
Concerns could mean if you could make it to work if you live far, if you have a child will you be able to do extra hours, etc...so many things regarding to the job...or maybe if you have a present job where you need to do your notice period but they want you to start earlier, or to discuss your salary...
Don't panic! Go there confident!

I wouldn't be worried! I doubt her concerns are something that you did, it's probably just general company concerns that they would have with any new employee. Good luck!
