What does heartburn feel like?

I always thought heartburn was just when you burped up some food or something. I never thought it was pain. But sometimes I get a sharp pain or ache in my right shoulder area which I read could be heartburn???

To me it feels like a burning in my chest. Sometimes it feels like I swallowed a big pill that won't go down. I've never heard of heartburn in your shoulders. It normally comes from stomach acid.

Heartburn isn't a sharp pain. It's almost a burning feeling in your throat and nose.  Like you can feel your stomach acid seeping back up your esophagus.  It's uncomfortable and can even make you feel nauseated.  It can be accompanied with indigestion.  If you have sharp pain it's more than likely gas.

Ugh I hate heartburnnnnn! I never had it before this pregnancy but it's like a burning in your chest. And when you burp it hurts even more. When you swallow it hurts and feels like somethings stuck there. If you drink cold liquids it burns it's all around horrible. It literally feels like acids burning the inside of your chest. (Which it is lol)
