Spring or purified water?

I'm having an argument with my dad. He insists of only buying purified water in bottles or gallons (the Nestle brand). I HATE the taste of it. I only drink spring water, or tap water, or water from the fridge. I also hate the Aquafina purified water and that used to be the only water they'd sell at my community college. 
Anyways I know that yes there are pros to purified water and I guess my taste buds just aren't feelin it. How do you guys feel? Spring or purified? Pros and cons?
