Sign of depression or unintentional cry for help?

Question

So I'm nearly 20 weeks pregnant and just left my husband on the US and gone home to the UK. He was mentally and started physically abusing me.

My family noticed I had lost lots of weight and when I went on the scales I've lost a stone while being with him and my bump is super tiny !

Now that the marriage is basically over I have some days like today where I can't be bothered to eat I don't even feel hungry and feel kinda numb, why do you think this would be ?
Its not me being stupid and its not deliberate in any way!

Coming out of a physically and mentally abusive relationship is going to be hard you may feel like you don't no what to do with yourself. Maybe talking to someone may help and try and focus on the good things hope you start feeling yourself soon xxx

It's definitely depression. Bring it up to your doctor/midwife. They'll probably have you talk to a physciatrist.

I mean.. Your pregnant, and going through a breakup. Thats bound to be difficult. Some days im so upset i can barely eat as well. But i have those days.. My good ones, and my bad ones. For me im just thinking its pregnancy but if it doesnt get any better i will talk to my doctor. Pre natal depression is very real. I would talk to your doctor and tell them how your feeling. And try to eat, even if its just a little. The baby and you needs it. :)

I think counseling is perfect for you right now. You need someone to talk to that won't give you bad advice. Atleast take prenatal vitamins everyday till your eating habits get normal again.

It never hurts to talk to someone about it. You're going through alot and not to mention the fact that pregnancy messes with your hormones.  Best to make sure others around you know how you're feeling so you don't feel alone and have someone to talk to.
