if both parties are virgins can either of you get an STD?

I'm asking this because my friend keeps telling me if my SO & I have sex I can still get an STD. We're both virgins & have never engaged in any kind of oral sex. We were even each other's first kiss. Is there any possible way we could get an STD from each other? If so then what are the chances & how does that even work?

Well. You can get herpes from just sharing a drink with someone so yes, in some cases, but not all, it is possible. Also, some people are exposed to various diseases when they're born. Not saying that's happened to either of you, just giving examples of what's possible.

My health teacher was asked this every year and always has the same answer. NO. Unless either of you were born with a STI, neither of you could transmit one to one another. Someone could only get a STI through sexual contact (whether oral, vaginal, or anal) but since both of you are virgins, you don't have any STIs unless you were born with HIV, herpes... Etc.

Yeah, but it depends. Some are transmitted by other bodily fluids as well. Blood, saliva, etc. Herpes, HIV, mono, AIDS, etc. All possible for virgins to have.

Uh no, I don't believe so. 
STD is a SEXUALLY transmitted disease .. If y'all have no other sexual contact ever before except with each other, there is no way possible. (Unless one of y'all are born with AIDS or something but I think y'all would already know that by now!) 
Always use protection anyways, and if you're really worried, both of you go get tested, it won't hurt anyone. 
If an STD appears .. Someone is lying and has probably had sex or sexual contact before.
