Babys position?

Question

I keep reading that my baby should be rotating head down, into the birthing position, but how does the doctor know? I don't have another ultrasound scheduled (that I know of).

My OB says they can tell by where the heart beat is.

They can feel from the outside and there are ways you can tell. You can tell by if you experience movements from both the top of your uterus and the bottom, if the baby hiccups from the top of your uterus or the bottom, and by where they detect the heartbeat. If these things are from below your belly button then baby is head down😊

The hiccups told me my daughters head is DOWN... Plus the lightening crotches are pretttttty helpful 😑

When you are far enough along they should be able to tell by feeling your belly :)

My doctor doesn't even check until they test you for dilation. At that point the can either feel a booty or a head.
