Tdap?

Hi all- i got the tdap vaccine when I was 30 weeks along. We're trying to get it for my husband now, and OB had made it seem like it was just a quick walk in thing at the pharmacy. However, looks like they are recommending a prescription.

Anyone else's hubby needed to get a script for it? Or was it walk in?

My husband got his at his general practitioner...as well as my parents

Mine went to Costco had to wait a little bit but he was able to get it.

Some care providers don't keep it in stock, maybe that's why they requested the prescription? Ours suggested we get it out of office due to that reason so We just went to an urgent care, paid $20 and were in and out pretty quickly.

My parents and in-laws just walked into their primary care and got it and my husband went to CVS Minute Clinic and got it- no questions asked. I've also had friends get it from their doc's with no problem.

Hubby went to his primary care physician and they took care of it right away!

You may have a more difficult time if you are trying to go to a minute clinic.

So many different stories. My doctor gave me 3 prescriptions but mentioned they shouldn't need one I got them just in case. 1 for my husband. 2 for father and mother n law. Myself, mom n law and hubs went to cvs minute clinic and she said I needed the prescription but they didn't. My father in law went 2 days later to the same cvs and was told he needed the prescription...I suggest if you really want them to get the vaccination tell your doctor you need extra prescriptions.

My husband and I walked in to our grocery store pharmacy and got it for free as it counts as a preventative with our insurance.

My husband got his at my OB office. He paid 55 bucks. They told us other family can go to cvs or Walgreens and have it done

You can just walk in and get it at Walgreens, Walmart, or Costco. They will run it as a prescription through insurance so the cost my not be covered. Insurance will cover the vaccine if he gets it through his medical provider. The cash price varies between $40-60 at Walgreens, Walmart, and Costco. We found Costco to be the cheapest cash price.
