When did you have your first pelvic exam after finding out you were pregnant?

I will be 12 weeks tomorrow. My dr is putting off my pelvic exam and pap smear until the next appointment (not sure on date yet). Should I be concerned that we are delaying this? I have never even had a pap smear. When did you have your pelvic exam/pap smear after finding out you were pregnant?

They waited until I was in my second trimester to do mine.

I think I was 9 or 10 weeks. It was at my first visit to the OB.

I didn't have a pelvic exam until I was in labor with my boys. My midwife doesn't do pelvics until active labor unless patients request them.

Cant remmeber if they did one with my firat u/s since it was vaginal. But i havent gotten one yet at 24wk

I never had a cervical checkup in my first trimester. The doctor I first chose wanted to do one around 8-9 weeks but it never happened because I ended up switching doctors & hospitals for personal reasons.  I did ask my doctor ( the new one ) if she wanted to do a pap just because that's what my previous doctor was going to do before I switched and she said no , that she doesn't do any of that till third trimester. Now that I'm 36 weeks she's offered the cervical checkups for effacement and dilatation but I opted out.
