If we're talking a planned baby then yes, assuming her and the partner live together, there is finanical income enough to support a child and they both feel they are ready for the responsibility. Everyone can be a mother but if it's planned and there's no finances or they still live at home then it's the parents of the 18y/o that are essentially raising that child.

I got pregnant at 17 on birth control and had our daughter at 18.. I had to grow up quickly and being a young mother is hard. People judge me and tell me they feel bad for me. And it's bothersome. I wouldn't change having our daughter for the world, but I don't think an 18 year old should be planning to have a child that young. You need a good job, a vehicle, insurance, a home. My boyfriend, now husband, had gotten out of the military a year before we got pregnant, so luckly he had some money saved up for us to buy a new car (he had a two seater car) and get a bigger place while he also worked.

Being a good mother is a mindset and doesn't have much to do with age. If you have the right mentality then you will do fine. But it will not be easy.
