Birth story 😩💕 (it's long read at your own leisure)

Robin
I started having contractions at around 3 am on the 18th I was 39w 6d I thought they were just Braxtonhicks  because I've never experienced any type of contractions my whole pregnancy by 5 am the contraction were close around 10 minutes apart to me they were nothing because I use to have horrible period cramps to the point were I'd throw up anyways by 2 pm they were 8 minutes apart so I waited until my sister got home so we could go for a walk since I was only dilated at 1cm on Monday (8/15)  she didn't get home until 4:45 pm and my contractions were pretty close so we started walking for a good 10 minutes and she was keeping track of my contractions which were 2 minutes apart on this app and by the time we got home she realized since we got home the whole time during the walk the app was telling her we should go to the hospital so we got in the car to head to the hospital which is 5 minutes away from the house we go and check in which was fast since we were already registered at the hospital and we get to triage they are monitoring the contractions and all I only dilated to 2.5 cm in those 2 hours contractions 2 minutes apart still and I'm throwing up which is typically normal while in labor they decided to discharge me I told the nurse I was leaking fluid and she checks and goes "oh that's nothing it's just from getting your cervix checked" so I just whatever it because she's the professional and "knows" what she doing so my sister and I go to get my mom out of the waiting room we walk to the car and literally as soon as I sat one the seat my water broke so I start freaking out like "omg something wet fell out of my pants" (it was exactly like dropping a water balloon on the ground) and my mom says "ur water broke" awkward pause "on my seat" (mind u my sister put plastic and a towel over the seat before I sat down) so after she said that I start crying hysterically like really at this moment right now ur worried about the car seat being messed up so she drives around to the ER and we recheck in and go back to triage and tell them my water broke and the nurse that discharged me was like "yea… I should've just kept u here" I get changed again hooked back up the the monitors and the nurse had to check and see if it was amniotic fluid or what so she goes to get her little microscope glass thingy (I have no idea what it's called) and I was leaking she goes oh that was easy slid right out of u so she was like yea lets get u checked into a room so we go and by that time I dilated to 3 cm so we're just waiting with my long contractions and I finally got to meet my nurse sent from God himself so she did the checking of the cervix and I was still at a 3 so I was in pain I just ask for and epidural and she looked at me for a while and said "it's up to u boss" I say yea then she looked at me again and was like aren't u going natural I said yea and she said ok stood there for a while and says "how about the midwives epidural and we get u into the bath" so I think about it like yea why change my plans so I give her the ok and she started the water I got in and she brought these fragrance oils to put into the water to relax me lavender isn't that relaxing so we go with orange which smelled beautiful and she gave me a cup to pour over my belly through contractions which is supposed to help and it did so I was in there for a good 30 minutes and got out because I felt like I needed to poop so my angel nurse walked me back to the bed and told me I was in a lot of pain because my baby was facing my pelvis instead of my back so I had to be on my hands and knees to turn her around so I did that for about an hour and felt like I needed to poop so my mom paged the nurse and she came with the OB on duty and the checked me again I was at 6 cm so they said to just relax through the contractions and try sleeping so I did and about an hour or 2 later I wake up and felt like I pooped on myself (sorta did) so my mom pages the nurse again and she came in and as she's going through contraction I felt something weird in the vagina so I touch it and felt hair and told her she looked and was like "wait don't push yet" so I looked at her and said "I can't wait" and she calls in for all of the doctors to come in and the OB takes a look and literally with out me pushing my child head is sliding out of me and by the the OB just says go ahead and push then my angel nurse came in to help her scrub out by that time half of the baby's body is out so we get her out at 2:40 am on the 19 (her due date) and my sister cut her umbilical cord and my mom was recording (she didn't know how to work the phone) and ended up taking pictures so the OB had to tell my sister to wait until my mom got her life together and figured it out they take the baby and weigh her and measure her and stuff and everyone in the room was so amazed at how calm she was and the nurses kept looking at her and looking at me and my angel nurse made a joke "that big baby came out of you where was she hiding at?" My mom sister and my brother start laughing and she says "ok that was my last one for today" so yea that was my natural birth experience over all I enjoyed every bit of it with no tears so no need or any stitches
