Group B strep test
So, I've passed my 1hr glucose test (yay!), and I just have the Group B strep test left in a little over a month.
My intentions are to have an unmedicated birth, with just an INT, and no IV fluids, ice chips instead. As a personal preference, I've never liked being attached to an IV pole.
I know that should I test positive, that goes out the window, and I'm perfectly fine with that. My baby's safety is more important than my preferences.
My question is, for those women who have had an unmedicated birth, have any of you also tested positive for Group B strep, and had to have the antibiotics? I know I will have to speak to the staff at my hospital, but were you allowed to get up and move around, or did the hospital insist you stay in the bed? Again, I know it varies from facility to facility, so I'm just wanting to gather what information I can. Thank you. 😊
