Any California mommies 35 or over? Genetic testing and gender question.
I am 36 next month and I was told by everyone that when they did my labs for genetics I would also find out the gender if I wanted. I had my labs drawn last week and have an appointment tomorrow with genetics and for a second ultrasound, they recommend all moms 35 or older meet with genetics and go over the results. I asked my ob the day my labs were drawn if we would also find out the gender and she said no, my husband and I were confused because almost everyone we know has been saying the opposite. My ob said that these are just for genetics and what the state of California requires. I am not sure if she was also confused or this is true. Anyone else know the answer? I am not willing to pay the $450 that my SIL paid to find out at 10 weeks but it would be fun to find out.
