Refusing to eat solids

My lo will be 5 months next week. I started with solids 4 days back. But she keeps spitting and crying. I started with apple sauce. Today I gave her rice cereal. She reacts the same way for both the foods. I tried in a while after feeding her or when she's really hungry. It's all the same. What should I do now? Keep trying or wait a few more days and start again. She's my second kid. I never had trouble with my first one. He was so good at eating.
