This is weird please help..

Okay so my boyfriend and I had sex and I had to take "plan b" well I took it within 24 hours of being sexually active and the a week later I noticed a dark brown discharge from my vagina? Is this just a side effect or is there something actually wrong? I was suppose to get my period around this time and instead it's just the dark brown discharge... Please I need answers
