Would you use fire to get rid of split ends?

Question

If you haven't heard, people are using fire to get rid of split ends. By twisting the hair, then taking a flame running it across the hair. Would you try this?

I don't know how people get split ends but just take better care of your hair. I have constantly dyed my hair and I've never had split ends. Still don't.

I'm a hairstylist and I saw the video. I still don't get how it works but the smell of burning split ends would turn me off completely plus the fact that Oh I don't know you're setting freaking fire to your hair!! I have a former boss who taught me a trick to cut broken hairs up the strands with shears and it works just as fine 😊 so I'd do that rather than this haha.

Cosmetologist abd barbers did this a lot back in the 60's-70's so it's nothing new. Schools don't usually teach the method anymore though so they don't really do it. I watched a long video about it in YT. My friend sent it to me after I asked her about it, it's really fascinating. If they were a trained professional and knew this technique I'd let them do it on my hair. Otherwise a normal person who just saw it floating around FB...no
