Positive test, then period

She has been actively trying for a couple months, this past weekend she took two first response tests after she was 7 days late for her period. They both had a very faint positive symbol! Today she started her period, anyone experience this? Did you end up pregnant? Or was this a chemical pregnancy?? We're confused. Lol
