When should you start buying baby clothes

So I am kind of confused. My best friend is tell me to start now. But I feel that I am only 5 months. I could wait until like November or December. To get everything ready. Even though I know it a girl. But other people are tell me to wait until after the anatomy scan. To confirm it a girl.

I had an early ultrasound at 14 weeks and we found out it's a girl and the same day I went and bought clothes. I saved the receipts so even if some strange thing happens and she turns into a he I can take them back and purchase boy clothes. I want to start preparing now and make sure I have everything I need before she is here. I couldn't care less if people think it's to early. My decision to by things doesn't affect them so their opinions don't matter. You decide when to start makin purchases for your baby.

There is no way I would wait tell the end. It's so uncomfortable haha I started once I knew what I was having but didn't buy too much, after my baby shower I shopped more to see what I didn't get and needed

Don't wait. My first I gave birth at 29 weeks. Thank god we had already bought the furniture and a bunch of clothes. The last thing I wanted to do was go shopping while he was in the NICU. You never know when you might have the baby especially if you wait until a month within your due date.

I say go for it! My mom never made it to the last month of her pregnancies, all three of us were born sooner. I've been hitting up consignment stores, garage sales, and Goodwill - so far have spent $40 on clothes and have a good selection for baby's first 6 months. No one item I bought cost over $1 and most were much less! If she comes early, we're ready. If she's on time, we're ready. And if God forbid something terrible happens, I can donate the clothes to a homeless shelter and not be out a lot of money. My husband calls me a Debbie Downer for thinking through all the possibilities but I think it's important to be realistic and practical.

I've never even purchased baby clothes! One or two outfits for each kid. I got way too many clothes for my first at my shower. Then my second was a girl too so I just used the same stuff. My mom and mother in law refuse to stop shopping and my cousin has 3 girls and sends me hand me downs. Sometimes I get bummed because I don't get to pick out my own stuff for them, but I know I'm really lucky that I get to save my money! Now the little bit of clothes I would get for my 5 year old, I just let her choose what she likes so we don't have to fight every morning over what she's wearing.

Start whenever you feel like it! I waited with my first and he surprised us at 30 weeks and 3 days and I had NOTHING ready! He spent 36 days in the NICU so I scrambled to get everything put together, washed, put away, etc. This time around I'm having my shower extra early and everything will be ready to go around 25 weeks!

I am now 20 weeks and I started as soon as I found out the gender. I am mostly focusing on clothes/ baby nursery items. Would like to have her nursery complete by end of October. Everything else we need and didn't get during our shower-- we'll complete.

I would wait if you're finding out the gender or do it whenever you feel is the time! Personally, I'm planning on going Black Friday shopping for baby clothes. Last year tons of places near me had Carters clothing buy one get 3 free for the Black Friday sales! 😊
