I was just looking through a birth plan checklist and it mentioned whether I would want/not want my public hair shaved by medical staff while in labor. This struck me as a bizarre item on a list related to labor and delivery because my assumption is that how much or how little hair a woman has on her vulva when in labor is a matter of personal choice and not medical necessity (or Doctor preference). So, my question is for moms on here who are not FTMs - was this something your doctor asked or expected of you? Anyone had this conversation with her doctor already or before?
