Really Big Baby?

Question

I had an ultrasound at 28 weeks and found out my baby girl weighed 2 1/2 pounds. The doctor then told me today at my 30 week appointment that she would grow half a pound each week. I'm thinking to myself that sounds like a pretty big baby! Am I just being paranoid? For some reason I feel like she's gonna weigh like 10 pounds lol.

There is no way to tell by ultrasound how much a baby ACTUALLY weighs. My friend was told she will have a baby between 8-10lbs when she was in labor. Her baby was born 7lbs 13oz. 😒 Uktrasound weights are just an estimate. Doesn't mean it's what they really weigh.

Yea my dr induced me at 39 weeks with my first for fear of my baby being over 9lbs and she was 6lbs 8oz so I don't think ultrasound is an accurate way to determine weight

I'm 28 weeks and was told today baby weighed 3.5 lb! If that's the case, mine will be a 12 pounder!

They honestly can't tell from an ultrasound. Mine went the opposite way and they said my son would be about 7 pounds and he came out weighing 9 lbs. 10 oz. I'm a fairly small person 5'5 120 lbs pre pregnancy. My husband is 6 foot five 200 pounds. Played basketball in college. Your best bet is to trust that your body will get the baby out no matter the size. I had my son naturally with no meds and it really was fine. Just remember that their fat squishes. Just hope for a small head!

I wouldn't be concerned at the baby's birth weight. It can be wrong most of the time and a baby can slow down a bit also gaining weight. The doctor told my sister my nephew 4 years ago would be over 10lbs and he came out 8lb6oz. He looked like a little peanut. The weight on an ultrasound is an estimate not guaranteed.

28 weeks my son was 2 pounds 13 ounces my daughter was born at 30 weeks 2 pounds and 8 ounces I can't wait to see how big my son will be😍

29 weeks and my boy is 4lbs. They keep telling me he is gonna be huge or I will not make it to November. If he's too big they will do a c-section

My second baby was estimated at 9lb he was 6lb4 at 39 weeks, I've had a scan today for my lil lady, as we think waters broke this morning, I'm only 30 week today and they've just estimated her at 3lb2 really hoping they are right this time to give her a good chance

I was told my oldest was around 8 lbs when i was in labor, she was 10.2 lbs when she was born! There is no way to know how big baby is until it is born
