Any vbac stories?

I had a csection with my first child and I'm going for a vaginal birth at a hospital. They've got a whole procedure and was told I couldn't do a water birth and had to be on the bed with baby monitor. I'm sad but thinking of my options. I want to move around to position myself for easier laboring. I cant do a homebirth as my family paaicks witb the risk but wish i had more options. Please share your experience with vbac and what helped
