bacterial vaginosis

I always end up getting bacterial vaginosis and it's embarrassing bc the smell is so strong. It comes out of nowhere I don't do anything different that would trigger it. When I used to use Summer's eve that would make it come on right away so I haven't used any wash like that since. How can I avoid this? I change my underwear everyday and wash well idk what to do. Anyone else have this issue?
