Does being induced harm you or baby?

Anyone know it have experience with being induced? 😳

Induction is generally safe but not totally without risk so really best to save for certain situations (like you have medical complications or are very overdue). The medication itself is not harmful to baby but the stronger contractions that it causes can sometimes be more stressful to baby and sometimes they don't tolerate it well. Your risk for a c-section is also higher with an induction which can be riskier for you and baby both.

My mom gave birth vaginally without an epidural twice, & one was an induction. She said the pain level for the induction was SO much higher than when it happened naturally. I am realllllly hoping to avoid one just for that reason! ... But if I have to I of course will!

I was induced with my daughter 2 years ago. It was the worst. Basically my body wasn't ready and my doctor scared me into it. My water was broken for 24 hours and my daughter got an infection. She had to stay a week in the hospital for antibiotics. I felt guilty and cried a lot. This time things are going way different.  I'm anti induction unless medically necessary.

Induction has higher rates of "emergency" c sections. Much higher actually.

My induction went really well! I was 2 days passed my due date and she was almost 9 lbs and I'm small and was dialated to 4cm for two weeks so my dr induced me.
I got to the hospital at 630am, I had her at 11:51 am.
It went really smoothly.. The contractions got intense and I dialated so quickly I almost couldn't get an epidural.. But I did and after that it was smooth sailing.. 
Really hoping this labor goes as smoothly
I'm getting super nervous about it

My water broke and I still wasn't having contractions 5+ hours later. It was definitely a lot stronger than I had anticipated and I was bummed I could relax in the jetted tub because if monitoring but all in all it was an easy, successful and relaxing birthing experience

I was induced after I went past my due date. Baby didn't tolerate the pitocin very well so we had to keep it low which meant a long labor. But in the end I had a healthy baby without a csection. Inductions go to c section more often than natural labors but sometimes induction is the best option.

Yes, what the first two ladies said - it raises your chance of a CSection. Pitocin contracts your uterus harder than your body would naturally so it can put the baby under stress. I would avoid it but nowadays it's pretty normal for OBs to do it. Glad I'm going to a midwife instead.

Induction does not harm you or baby. I was induced with my daughter, she was born a healthy little girl. 
Induction just gets your body into labor, if your doctor is recomending inductions ask questions about your concerns.
