Labia adhesion and breastfeeding

At my PP appiornemmt my doctor told me I have labia adhesion. I had a lot of grazes and cuts on my inner lips (labia minora) and apparently at the top it healed so the two lips are healed together. So instead of an O my vagina now looks like an 8... My doctor prescribed estrogen cream and said that one month after I stop breastfeeding I can have the surgery to separate it... So if I want it done next month I have to stop breastfeeding today. I assume it's due to low estrogen while breastfeeding. I'm crushed. Not only I feel like my vagina is wrecked and I'm not going to be able to have sex with my husband any time soon but I also feel like crap about making the decision to stop breastfeeding immediatlty so I can have the surgery as soon as possible since the longer I breastfeed the longer I have to wait to have it done. Is it wrong of me to want to have it done sooner than later so it doesn't adhere more and so I can resume sex life? It's also still pretty tender there and I feel that due to the adhesion it's super tight and constantly feels bruised. I feel awful.
