Steroid shots at 31 w 3days & vaginal progesterone capsules??

Question

Have any of you guys had to do this? I am 31w 3days & was told today that my cervix is shortening and I am at risk of pre term labor. I also have to start inserting vaginal progesterone capsules until about 36 weeks (if I make it that far) anyone with any affects from this??

Yes. I have been "very high risk" from week 20 when I found out what I was having. Been on progesterone supps and bed rest from work since mid June. The shortest i've been was 1 cm but it went back up slightly that was i'd say about 5-6 weeks ago. I got the steroid shots about a month ago. I go to the dr every two weeks to get checked and they say i'm doing good! Hit 34 weeks today! :)

My cervix shortened at 24 weeks, they gave me the steroid shots and also put me on the progesterone suppositories. I guess the progesterone helps because my cervix actually lengthened back to a normal length,my doc still has me on the progesterone though until about 36 weeks. I'm 31 weeks now and everything is going well so far! It's annoying to have to insert them every night but anything for baby 👍

I found that my baby didn't move as much for a day or two after the shots, but she's fine now! Must have been either groggy from the medicine or resting and growing from it!

Hi. My cervix is short & I have a history of preterm labor & I've had to get a cerclage put in place to keep it from opening up (15wks) with addition to getting progesterone shots every week until 36 wks. I've been put on light duties. Luckily I haven't been put on bedrest with this pregnancy like I was in the past. I can't speak on what the suppositories feel like but the shots are painful and the pain lasts for a few days. But from my understanding the progesterone keeps your cervix right and closed. So I hope everything works out for u. Good luck
