When is a good bed time for kids by the age of 4-7

What do you think? 
We live in Cali and the sun goes down at 7:30 pm I think.

I think it totally depends on your child's daily schedule. My 3 year old goes to bed at 9:30 (10 if Daddy had to work late), she gets up around 7:30, and gets a 2 hour nap in the midafternoon. This is the only way our family gets to see each other on a daily basis. You have to find what works for your child and your family.

4,5,and 6 year olds I think should be in bed between 7:30 and 8pm. We gradually raised the bedtime by half hour intervals for my little brother and sister. 7,8 and 9 year olds bedtime is 8:30 pm. Kids do all of their growing when they sleep, it's kinda important that they get enough.

My 4 year old 9:30 he wakes up at 8:30  my 9 year old is 9:30. It used to be 8:30 she wakes up at 6 for school, but she begged to stay up later. So I agreed only if she gets up on time with no whining

My bedtime was 8:00 until 5th grade when I finally begged for it to be 9 and once I proved that I could get up in the mornings then it became 9, so 6th grade really

My 4 year old has always preferred to stay up a little later and then sleep in a bit compared to suggestions that I see for kids her age.

We tried earlier bedtimes when she was younger, but she would just sit awake in her room for hours after we tucked her in.

We've figured out that about 9:00 works for her. If she's had a really busy day, she can go to bed earlier, and if she's had a calm day or a nap, it's more like 9:30.

I think 8:00 is a good bedtime for that age group. Maybe a little earlier if your schedule allows.

My parents used to always send me to bed at eight, then I started to get older and it would increase little by little, so at 7-9 it was eight than 9-11 it was 9 and 10-13 it was 9:30 on school nights and 10 on weekends. At 14 they kinda stopped caring wether I slept or not.
