do I need to use another form of bc

okay I've been on the pill since January and I was on Tri-sprintec and then I switched Pharmacys and they gave me Tri-linyah because they said it was the same power just different brand...so my question is since I'm starting a new brand will it take 7 days to be effective or will I be protected as usual?

It should be the same. It's like taking Tylenol vs generic acetaminophen. It's the same just a different name.

If it's the same dosage (like same amount of hormones) then I think you should be fine. Just my personal opinion though so could be wrong.

To be safe I'd wait the seven days. It could be a different amount of hormones.
