I am not trying nor wanting a religion argument!

I am curious as to how many people are going to baptize their baby and/or have godparents?

I am curious because I'm Catholic & my SO was raised Baptist (he says he's non-denomination now) and we got to talking about possibly baptizing and even possible godparents.

We don't know what religion or what to I guess "choose" because I am not religous (I don't attend church or anything to do with church) and neither is he. We talked about not doing anything at all and waiting for our child to make his own decision when he's old enough of what religion he wanted to be. My SO said we could have godparents without baptizing and I know with how religion, traditions, and customs are. I mean obviously we could if we wanted to, but you know how people get when you break traditions, customs, etc.

My dad is straight up Catholic and talks about how my baby is going to be Catholic & what his name will be. I am so mad at him because he thinks he can control me & my baby; the decisions I make or going to make. My dad is the type of guy that thinks women belong to men and the way things used to be in the ole days...so yea I am stressing with this man.
