have any of you had placenta accreta?

I have to have a D&C Monday because my ultrasound looked funny (I got an ultrasound at 10 & 1/2 weeks postpartum because I was still bleeding at 8 weeks postpartum, my bleeding stopped 2 days before my ultrasound and then started again that day and has continued, my ultrasound was this past Tuesday) and that it looks like part of the placenta attached to my previous c section scar and is retained. And now I've been doing research and am paranoid I'm g ping to have a hysterectomy because it took so long for it to be found. (I've read most cases are found during pregnancy) anybody else ever experience this?
