When to announce

My sister in law just delivered on Wednesday. I am going to visit them Labor Day weekend at which point I will be about 6 weeks. Do you think it will make seeing my nephew seem less important if I tell my mom and brother I am pregnant? I don't want to make myself the focus but otherwise j won't be able to tell my mom in person. Opinions?

Maybe you just take your mom aside and tell her in private and let her know you don't want to take any focus from your nephew so it makes it look like you're trying to be smart about the situation and then just wait till you're further along and tell your brother and sister in law then.

For both of mine and my sil's kids they are 6 months apart.  My nephew is 6 months older then my DD. My niece will be 6 months older then the baby I'm expecting now. We kinda like it this way bc we have awful InLaw's and they will only check in if we have something major going on unless we are having major events at the same time then they don't check in ever! Haha!

I would tell your mom in person and early if the other option is later and not in person.
