Okay so I'm not some neive young teenager (no offense) that's been having sex. I'm 21 and have a really great bf. I started the ring on Aug. 14 after being off bc for quite a while. I know getting a period is optional and at that point I was literally half way in my cycle. The directions for Nuvaring state that I'm okay and safe for unprotected sex after 5-7 days, although yes condoms for sti's, but we didn't use one one night (day 4 on the ring) and I'm worried because I've missed my period at my regular time (like I'm 5 days late). Does this mean that I control when I have it at this point and if I take it out on Sunday I will start? I know I need to have a period because I was halfway in my cycle and my body needs to get rid of my unused egg and shed itself but I'm kind of nervous I'm prego even though I know it's unlikely.
