Do babies get warm/hot when they sleep?

Question

(Was told this was not in the right place. But I feel people could debate about this.) I'm curious, because when my parents and baby brother goto bed, they always put him in long sleeves and long pants with socks. Baby temp is different from an adult's. I am curious. They keep the temp in the house around 78-80 F. That's hot/warm to me. I always tell them turn it down, because my fan will only push hot air around

Why the heck do they have the heat so high?! Anything above 75 and I get murderous...
If you're cold, just but a blanket on, dang. No need for them to waste all that energy by keeping the house unnecessarily hot.

Wow that is wayyy too hot!!! The safe temperature for babies is bettween 68-72 anything above that is dangerous. I don't know if babies get hotter at night I doubt it its just that parents put babies down rapped in blankets with pajamas on and onesies and don't have the temperature at a safe level in the house. I once as most new moms do i think overbundled my baby pretty badly. I had him in a onesies a fleece pajama and a blankets and a hat sleeping in a rock n play which has like velvet padding etc. He was born in December so it was cold and the heat was set at like 68. Anyways in the middle of the night he woke to eat and I went to pick him up he was burning hot! I quickly took his temperature it was at 103!!! I  undressed him and took him in the car to the er!! I was scared shit less by the time I got to the er his temper was normal 🙈😂. I'm glad he woke me when he did becuz being overheated like that is a sids risk! Anyways I was told never ever put a baby to sleep with a hat on that makes them overheat way quicker! Turn down the heat there or put on the ac the temp should not exceed 72 degrees.

Babies can't regulate their own temperature like we can so they do need to be wrapped up more especially at night... you'll know if your brother is too hot. Feel the back of his neck or you may find his hands or feet will sweat/he will go red.

My oldest hated being overly warm, especially when sleeping. I was always worried that she would be chilly, but the poor dear would wake up and fuss unless we kept the house cool and had her wearing cotton jammies.

Babies can overheat in sleepsacks. They range in fabric from thick fleece to lighter than cotton- so it's good to go by the weather outside when buying, and not have the bassinet or crib under a cold window. An ideal temp for babies to sleep comfortably is 72-73*.  If it's hotter than that babies probably don't need anything but lightweight pajamas on, but my feet get icey when I lie down so I try and keep their toes covered.

I can alway tell when my daughter is asleep by feeling her forehead (if she is laying on me and I can't see her face) even how at 2 she gets very warm when sleeping

It really depends on the child I find. My son is hot like his dad. But my daughter is colder like me. She doesn't sleep well unless she's in footed pj's and has he fuzzy blanket, and the lowest my room drops at night is 17. My son on the other hand I'd put him to bed in a sleep sac and diaper and he was great.

Also, babies get used to being swaddled and held in warm places from the uterus and then the arms of their families, so the warmth gives a feeling of comfort that often eases sleep

For Taiwanese we traditionally keep babies wrapped and warm, though we obviously make exceptions when it is HOT.  But 75-80 isn't too bad, and babies tend to squirm out of the covers.
