My ex and I had been talking for over a year after we broke up. We were together for four years. We’d promised we’d be in each other’s lives forever. That we’d visit each other wherever we were.

I never stopped loving him. Never. But he did, with time. And he found someone else. And he’s probably going to get married with her (she's Muslim but lives in Germany). Their parents met two weeks into their relationship. He’s even considering having kids with her, something he never did with me. (We had an abortion when I ended up pregnant).

I love him. Even though I’ve dated three other men (one of which has been there for me through this), I’ll always consider him the man of my life.
