Period Bleeding Type

My period comes every month, nothing abnormal. When it does come, I have really dark bleeding, blood clots, and heavy flow. Then it goes away after 4-6 days, ending with spotting on the 5th or 6th day. Im not 100% sure if it's healthy or not, then again, I had my period like this since I was 12 years old. I started using tampons two years ago. My mom told me it's the way my body is but Im a little concerned at random moments. I feel like its abnormal to bleed that dark and that much for a short period of time.
