Weight loss for conception...

Mareesha

So a little back story...

My partner and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now....first, at home inseminations with a known donor then we sought help with a fertility Dr. We had to stop with our Dr in January because our new insurance just started and of course no premium paid. The insurance wanted $2640 for my refill of Gonal pens 😢. We didn't have the full amount at once, so now we've resorted back to home inseminations with a dear friend who has helped his family in the same situation before.

For 2 years of trying at-home inseminations and IUI with medications, I'm still getting a period every single month and it's heart breaking. I have nothing wrong with my ovaries or tubes and I ovulate regularly. The only thing I can think of stopping me from getting pregnant is my weight. According to the BMI chart I am considered "obese." I'm about 5'11 and definitely don't look like an obese person, but I know I am. I'm the heaviest I've ever been! Yes, I have Hypothyroidism but I'm on meds and that shouldn't be an excuse. Although, I work 12 hour shifts on my feet overnight at a hospital, it's not enough. I know I need to do more as far as exercising and eating better. I've read plenty of times losing even just a little bit of weight can help you conceive.

My question is: How much weight loss do you think it would take for conception to occur? Like how many pounds would make a difference? I won't stop losing once I start. I use to be so fit and had a lovely body, but I got comfortable and stopped working out lol.

I'm sorry for the long winded post...thank you for those that stuck with it 💪😘
