Period (Shower)

Normally when I'm on my period and I go to get in the shower there's no blood or anything. But yesterday as soon as I took off my underwear I had blood running down my legs. This has not happened to me before. Is it normal? Should I have been as scared as I was when I saw that much blood? 😂
