Varicella ?

Question

I went to the doctor Friday and they took blood work and today they called me saying my blood was a high on the varicella, for chicken poxs. I have to go back and get more blood work. A little scared :'(

It's ok. If it's for a titer for the IGG it is supposed to be high. It means that you have an immunity. If they tested the IGM and it is high or considered reactive, then you have the actual chickpox virus.
I work in a lab and I have this argument all the time with nurses that don't know how to properly interpret the results. At least they had the decency to call and ask where yours apparently panicked and instead of asking peers for advice called you with bad information. It makes me made to hear of bad patient care.
