What to do after umbilical cord falls off?

Went to change his diaper and I saw this. What do I do now? And should I worry about the yellow stuff in his belly button?

Nothing usually. Some yellow discharge is normal. Call your pediatritian if it gets excessive. Some bleeding is normal, too. Same rule applies. I did have to clean Raven's belly button once. You'll just want to take a qtip and alcohol to it. Just one quick jab. But you won't necessarily have to. You only have to do something if there's a lot of discharge or blood, or if say... pieces of clothes get caught in it to prevent infection

My daughter's fell off super early....it got caught on her diaper. It had bloody crust and stunk soooo bad. Pediatrician recommended: Take a q-tip and gently clean area with alcohol or Witch Hazel and then use other end of q tip to dry the wetness away. Fold baby diaper top down to allow air to belly button and help it heal. If it doesn't get better and begins to turn red or become bloody or ooze more pus then call doctor. In some rare cases the umbilical will have to be cauterized to help with healing.

Yellow is normal its the scab/ scar that forms under cord. It will soon look like a normal belly button:) as long as it isn't super foul smelling, and isn't pussing nothing to worry over.

My little mans looked like that, give the doctor a call and let them know. They have this stuff called silver nitrate, and they put it on the belly button and it'll help dry it up! It's totally normal tho
