i have a midwife that also works in the same office as an OB. she's very personal and caring and is always willing to listen to me and what my wants are for this pregnancy and birth. i also have the comfort of knowing there's an OB down the hall that also shares the same values if there is ever an emergency or she needs to consult with someone. it's a great peace of mind for me, a first time mom who wasn't sure which route to take. she's perfect and i'm never going to have another child without her!!! p.s. i am also delivering in a hospital just because that's what my midwife does and my insurance doesn't cover home births and it's just not something we can afford haha, but i am planning to have an unmedicated birth

We're planning an all natural water birth at home with a midwife. Our visits are so intimate and in depth, I'm receiving much better and much more thorough care than with my OB. I'm one of 3 mothers she's seeing so I never feel rushed and always feel like she has time for me. Her knowledge and insight is above and beyond any OB I've been to on the past. So excited to have a friend and support partner like her at my side when I give birth!

Our Doctor is a family doctor and will be delivering our son. Our ob doctors are really busy and you are t guaranteed to have the same Doctor you see deliver you. In family we are guaranteed to have our Doctor unless something is planned ahead of time in which she will suggest someone and we will be a be able to have a say. She will also be his Doctor along with mine and my husbands. It just fit our family better to go this route vs ob. To each their own!

I'll only see midwives unless I have complications. The care is much more personal and hands on.

Ob/gyn, but I'm high risk (heart issues). If not I'd totally be game for a birth center with a midwife.

I'd have liked a midwife and home birth.. But high risk gives no other option than a hospital. I can't even labor in water, or choose my delivery position.
