when to put baby in the crib?

Brittany • 30, married, one precious daughter.
My husband and usually I room share with our 12 week old daughter, but last night we decided to put her to sleep in her crib. She did great! She didn't sleep for as long stretches as she does in the room with us, but she didn't fuss or cry about being in her room all alone. Now, here's the problem. My husband and I were so excited to get the bedroom back to ourselves! But neither of us slept. We were so anxious and on edge the whole night. Every little noise jolted me awake. I feel like my daughter is ready to sleep in her room, but /we/ aren't. As ridiculous as it sounds, I missed her SO much when she woke up this morning! I couldn't bring myself to put her down. So, my question is, how soon is too soon? How late is too late? Should we wait until WE are ready, or are we being selfish wanting her to sleep in the room with us for a while longer?
