Group B cells?

I was just told I have group B strep cells after a culture.. I am not pregnant right now. They told me it was normal and not to worry until I got pregnant. I did suffer a miscarriage about a month ago. Should I be worried? Thank you

No. Strep B is transient. You could have it one week and not have it the next. The only time it's even the slightest concern is during labour and delivery. Even then the risk is minimal and antibiotics are given anyway.

No, Most women test positive for group b strep on and off throughout their lives. It does not affect fertility at all and does not cause miscarriage. Just because you tested positive now, a few weeks from now you could be negative again, and you very well could have been negative when you had your miscarriage. At around 36 weeks pregnant (in the US) you will be tested for GBS because it can possibly infect a baby during delivery, so they want to know if you are positive then so they can start you on antibiotics when you go into labor to prevent your baby from getting infected. Other than that, it is very normal and not something to worry about.
