Can you pump while lying down?

I am not sure if Gravity is important for the pump. I am wondering if one can set up a great pump and take a quick cat nap?

yes.  Lying on my right side, for example, I can place the pump flange on my left breast.   You need a good pumping bra, and you need to use a shortish bottle (like 6 oz at most); I would not recommend using pumping bags for this.  You can definitely do it.The person who invents the one you can use lying on your back, as another poster mentioned, is going to be rich and our hero!

Have to sit up to pump or it'll go everywhere, regardless of the suction.

If the milk gets up to the valves it back tracks into the tubing and can destory the pump itself. Best to be mostly upright. Pump and then cat nap.

Sit up in a chair or on the couch and try to nap that way?
