Septum Piercing??

Question

I'm 16 and I'm planning on getting my septum pierced but I'm super nervous. 
Does it hurt? How long does it take to heal?

Hi! I've only had mine since early August, so I can't help you out much with information about a long term fully healed septum piercing, but I can tell you a few other things from my experience.
My piercer said about 6-8 months before it will be fully healed, so I'd go off that range. Pain wise, mine hurt, but I wasn't in immense pain. The fact of the matter is that it's going to hurt, but if it's pierced in the correct place with no cartilage and only skin, aka the sweet spot, it shouldn't be too painful. Mine hurt about as much as my nose piercing, and a little more than my tragus, though I can't gauge your pain tolerance. It was definitely more than a pinch, that is for sure
For the first week after, I will admit, it was tender, painful, and my nose did not like to be moved or disturbed in any way, including smiling. Whenever the pain became irritating, I stuck two saline (sea salt is good as well) soaked cotton balls up each nostril. (Be prepared to get up close and personal with your nose!). That would alleviate it for me, I'd leave it there to soak until it felt better and then discarded them.
For cleaning, my piercer told me twice a day soaked for 5-10 minutes with saline or sea salt soaked cotton balls. Others clean it with unscented soap, though it is not what I personally do. 
If you are committed to taking care of your piercing and really love the way it looks, then go for it! I love mine and I'm so happy I got it done!
Please keep in mind that I am NOT a professional piercer, so please make sure to follow what they say if and after you get the piercing! They know better than someone only with piercing experiences, it is their job and they are the ones trained for this!
A note: if you are someone with lots of piercings, and I came off condescending in any way, I apologize! I just wanted to cover everything I know just in case you are new to this!

Girl it hurt. But its bareable. My eyes teared up. even if you BARELY tap your nose for a few weeks, its gonna hurt for a few seconds.

Don't have one but asked my piercer what the most painful piercing would be (I was getting my nipples pierced) and he said septum.
