Hcg test so soon??

Question

How is everyone getting there hcg tests done so early? I'm a first time mom. My ob gyn, is out of town this week, so my first visit is Tuesday, the 6th.

I got my HCG tested as soon as I confirmed pregnancy on a home test. I called the doctor and she drew blood from me that same day at 9dpo. Since it was still early the levels were low and she did a second test 48hrs later at 11dpo. The levels went up nicely and she tested again at 16dpo. So far everything is great. Im currently 5w5d (26dpo).

She only tested early due to my previous history of miscarriages. She never saw me until 9wks the first time I got pregnant with my baby boy. I miss carried him at 9 weeks.

Here were my levels in case any of you ladies are interested.

9dpo: 19
11dpo: 82
16dpo: 1085

Haven't had mine yet, and my appointment is on the sixth too, but they're just doing the proof of pregnancy and a quick visit. Then they'll schedule the blood work and ultrasound. I had a miscarriage in October, but it's not making them do anything sooner.

I'm thinking its a US thing. I'm in Aus and my GP didn't even take bloods when I went in after my positive HPT. I don't have any appointments until week 10. I won't even be having a scan that day (though I think I'll be having blood taken). Everyone is having scans early and getting their blood tested and I'm here just hanging out for weeks and weeks waiting
