Tips on Natural birth?

My doctor doesn't really seem to support it but it's my first child and I want to feel everything so what are some tips idk if they'll have a bathtub in my room ( baths help me through pain) so what are some tips that helps you through labor

I did not intend on going natural but I did. My advice? Breathe. It's going to hurt and sometimes your reaction will be to hold your breath, don't! Try different positions through labor to get you comfortable. I walked and at times would get down on my hands and knees to sway. I don't know why but it felt better for me. Remember to stay calm. It's going to excite you and make you nervous (or I was anyways) but I had to remember to focus. I wanted to use the tub but we didn't have time. I came in at 8cm the last time (they sent me hone twice before). So my last piece of advice is try not to get wrapped up in a birth plan, things don't always go as planned. Do some research on the Bradley Method and see if you can find some classes. It kills me that a doc would recommend against a natural birth. It's not a procedure it's you having your baby!!!

Watch business of being born on Netflix or YouTube. Great documentary and very empowering. Look into natural birth methods there are a ton: hypnobabies, hypno birth, Bradley, spiritual, acupuncture, and many more. Find what's right for you and don't listen to other women's horror stories. Hollywood is ruining birth for women it's not at all the dramatic over intense episode they show you on TV. You got this!

Look up Birthing from Within,  they offer classes and it's also based off a book.   They have tons of coping mechanisms,  from fixating on one certain point,  to different essential oils that you can use for aromatherapy that can help with pain management (my midwife suggested orange blossom and a couple of others).

I can not believe a Dr would discourage an all natural birth.   I've had 2 and preparing for another one in Feb.   I would also suggest waiting to go to the hospital.   I didn't go til after my water broke with my last one because I didn't want to be there for ages (still was a 4 hour labor once I got there).

Check out a Doula,  I know our hospital offers them for free,  you can ask if yours does as well.  They are trained to help you overcome childbirth and will advocate whatever you do or don't want,  so you and your SO can fully focus on task at hand.   It can really help out if the Dr keeps asking if you want pain meds (I had to be extremely firm with one nurse who kept asking if I was sure I didn't want an epidural),  or if you don't want to be constantly checked.

It isn't easy,  but I always tell myself this is just a short moment in time and it is bringing me closer to the newest member of our family.   Soon you will be holding that baby in your arms and you won't remember all the contractions or anything.   Plus,  it's nice to be able to get up and walk around.  Sometimes,  an Epidural can stall labor,  cause fetal distress,  and cause unwanted emergency c sections,  sometimes they only work on one leg or they don't work at all.    Just know all the pros and cons of any interventions that can arise.  If you're wanting an all natural birth you will get it,  just make sure to surround yourself with people who know that and will advocate on your behalf.

Mine was the ability to be at home and labour quietly(it was quiet around me, I wasn't quiet haha)
I went to the hospital around 3 and they checked me and told me I was only at 3cm. They than gave me the option to go home and labour at home because you progress faster.

I went home and laid in bed to try and get some sleep( that lasted about 30min till my contractions got super painful)

I then sat and laid on my birthing ball in the living room and groaned through the contractions. Make sure that your groans are guttural and low as screaming will only waste energy and make you horse.

Around 830 my husband called the hospital and they told us to come back in.

We went in around 930 and I was 8.5 inches dilated.

I then laboured in the hospital bed which was peaceful, my nurses were amazing and so friendly and helpful.

I used the gas a little because my body was trying to push when I wasn't fully dilated. When I finally made it to 10 cam it was 7 pushes and he was out.

I believe it is mind over matter,breath through the contractions and make sure you have a strong support by your side to reassure you that you can do it. My husband was invaluable even though he couldn't physically do anything he was emotional support and that was what I needed.

And the moaning and groaning, that will help you work through the Contractions while conserving your energy.

I'm going to do a natural birth as well no drugs I had lots of friends tell me their experiences most with two babies one medicated one not any pretty much everyone says the best experience for them was the non medicated labor they felt amazing afterwards. It's going to hurt but it's what our bodies where made to do so you got this momma be strong find your focus and breath 💗💙

I'm pregnant with my first so I have no advice to give you other than don't listen to Michelle! If you want to go natural, that is your decision!! There is no rule book that says you can only go natural after your first. Women had natural births for thousands of years before the epidural came along. I am planning on going natural, at home, with this babe.

I would recommend looking into hiring a doula if you're able to, they help with pain management and support and teach you techniques to get through labor naturally. You CAN do it! You deserve and have the right to whatever type of birth that you want. Make sure you are assertive when telling your doctor about your birth plan!

My dr was the same way. I switched to a birthing center at 28wks because of this. I would recommend Bradley classes and switching to a different Dr. If this dr doesn't support you, you will end up having a birth you don't want.

Go in with the mind set of "I can do it" I'm young (16) and made it though 8 hours of labor, completely unmedicated and I am a big baby. I swear, you look at me wrong and I say "ow." I have to agree with the breathing (in through the nose, out your mouth) and different positions (I loved laying on my sides and also floating around in the tub), if they have a peanut shaped birthing ball, laying in bed with that between your legs is a amazing. Having a lot of support is also key, so I went with the midwives at my hospital. Maybe look into your hospitals options and see if you could switch to them? They are literally angles in disguise. I had 4, who all came to watch me push and help welcome my baby boy, and one stayed for my entire labor (her shift ended half way through). If you really want it, make your wishes known and stick to it. But, do not feel bad if you need a little help along the way. You can't put in 100% effort if the pain is more than you can handle.
