is this crying it out?

I'm diving to my parents' for the weekend and it's about an hour away. It's bed time for baby and I'm hoping she will just sleep in the car (which she rarely does). Often I'll sit in the back with her but I feel like that prevents her from falling asleep. Well now she is crying and I hate it so much. Is it the same as making her cry it out if I don't go back there? Im on the highway and just can't get back there right now.
