screwed-up hair--help!

nicole
so about a month ago, I cut my own bangs and I really liked them. they were just side bangs, and I spread them over my forehead to see how they'd look as full-out bangs. I liked that (I was going for a season seven Meredith grey look, which I'll attach a picture of). so, I cut more hair. stupidly, my hair was a few-days-old straightened (it's naturally super curly) and greasy when I did this. so, of course, when I washed my hair the bangs no longer looked feathery yet blunt as I wanted them. I went to get my hair cut and the bangs thinned out and just all the same length, but the hairdresser cut them all jagged. my mom tried to help me out by cutting the same length, but there's not much we could do without cutting them dangerously short. however, I really want to have a back-to-school haircut. so, what I'm asking is, is it stupid to cut more had so that I can have my bangs for back to school? I know it probably is, but the bangs I have now are barely there, so I don't know how much of a difference it will make. I'll attach a picture of when I had side bangs, what I wanted them to look like, and them now. thanks guys
