Pills,periods,pregnancy?

Someone help me out here. Ive read on here twice that you can still get your period while your pregnant if youre on the pill? Ive never heard that before so I'm very confused. How does that work!? Like if you're pregnant and dont know it so you keep taking the pill you can still get a "period" when its that time? OR have people been seriously giving out wrong info!?
