what are the odds that the ultrasound tech is incorrect?

Curious if anyone has had the wrong gender prediction in past? My hubby refuses to buy anything for baby until we have our next ultrasound in 2 weeks. To make sure of gender. The ultrasound tech said our baby was a female when we had our ultrasound at 19 wks. Gonna have an ultrasound at 30 wks and he wants to make sure it's gender is accurate. Older brother's 1st child was supposed to be a boy but turned out a girl. My older sister's youngest child was supposed to be a girl but turned out to be a boy. The Chinese gender prediction calendars online say I'm having a boy. 😳 dunno what to believe.

We were told at our 19 wks ultrasound 4 years ago our baby was a girl. ...we have a 4 year old SON!  It does happen, lol

I had my ultrasound at 20.5 week and well it was very obvious there was a penis there. I think the earlier you have it the chances are it could be wrong. But 19 weeks...I'd imagine you're fine however 30'weeks you can still get and set up all your stuff in time too.

What do you mean about your siblings children's genders "we're supposed to be... But weren't" supposed to be according to what? Chinese gender or ultrasound? Ultrasounds as late as 19 weeks are very seldom wrong. Unless the tech/doctor says they can't get a good look and are only making an "educated guess" I'd trust it. I had my scan at 20 weeks and there was a very obvious penis there. With my daughter she was a it difficult, but eventually she let us get a peak and they were "as close to 100% certain that you can get".

If I were you I wouldn't go off no Chinese gender prediction or symptoms or anything like that. Don't get an ultrasound so early because depending on the weeks, the girl&boy genitals look the same. So just stick with that 20week anatomy scan and get a 3D/4D later after the 20 weeks for confirmation.

With my first child, I was told in my First and SECOND ultrasound that it was going to be a girl...I didn't find out til I was around 7mis pregnant that I was having a little boy!

I know personally of two cases that were wrong... One of each gender. I guess it does happen but it's probably not super common.

Are you basing it off of the Chinese gender charts ? Or did their techs actually tell them the wrong gender ? At 18 weeks 5 days i learned the sex of my baby and trust me that it looked nothing like a girl even before she told us I could see his testes... It's very rare for them to be wrong that far along into the pregnancy..

My friend who just had a baby was told she was having a girl. 2 weeks before her due date she got a call that the tech made a mistake and she was actually having a boy.
