How long until bleeding stops?

I have recently had the  5 yr mirena IUD fitted and was wondering how long on average it took for your bleeding to stop? (If it did!) do you still get periods or has it worked well in stopping periods for you? How long did you get sporting for? Thanks! X

If I can remember, it took about 3-6 months for my periods to slow up. I barely get anything now days and it's usually every other month for like three days of super light flow or just spotting.

I've had mine for about a month and bled for 2 weeks after I got it put in but I was also on my period when inserted and I was coming off the pill. My period right now is so light and I love it! I've never had a light period so it scared me at first but it's amazing to not have to change a tampon every hour! 🙌🏻

I bled for almost 4 months straight then had 2 week long periods for a year then they got more regular and normal until I got it removed.

Varies for everyone.

I had mine inserted during my period, Dec 2015. Had a period in early Jan 2016. Nothing until April 2016, when I had a period and some spotting.

I haven't had any bleeding since.

Some women stop having periods straight away, some don't.
