losing the love of my life...

He broke up with me because he said "it's not working and it hasn't been working for a long time" I pleaded with him and everything and then just stopped. I'm just trying to come to my senses. I don't want him to leave me. I been with him for 3 years, we started freshman year in HS. He said he needs time to think, he doesn't just want to give me answer now and regret it. He spent the night with me last night, and we're suppose to get food today... Idk this has my mind so messed up. He says he loves me, only wants to be with me, but we just argue a lot. He said he needs time to think but im scared to give him time.
